What is DigiLocker?

DigiLocker is a cloud digital locker service launched by the Indian government through which people can keep their required documents on DigiLocker. Users of the computer can use the service of this digital locker by the help of Digi Locker's official website www.digilocker.gov.in and users of Android and IOS can download their application from their App Store. This service has been launched by India's Department of Electronics and Information Technology.

How to use DigiLocker? 

The use of DigiLocker is very easy and free. First, you have to register your mobile number. After that, any person can register with the help of their Aadhaar number and after getting the Aadhaar Verify through OTP, it can link linked documents to the Digi Locker app or website.


Steps to use DigiLocker through Website:-

  1.  First of all, go to the official website. DigiLocker Official Website - www.digilocker.gov.in.
  2. Then click Signup on the website.
  3. After clicking on the signup, you will see a new list where you will have to enter your Mobile    Number. By entering the mobile number and continuing, you will receive an OTP on your mobile number.
  4.  Entering OTP in the space provided, you will see a new page where you must enter the username, password of your Digi Locker. Then click on SignUp.
  5. Then your Digi Locker account will open. To add Aadhaar card first, enter your Aadhaar card number. On entering the Aadhaar card number, you will receive an OTP on the Aadhaar link mobile number. By entering this OTP and continuing, all issued documents connected to the Aadhar card will be displayed inside the Digi Locker.
  6. You can also add many other documents along with Digi Locker by visiting Search Documents. Partner, if you want, upload your essential documents with the help of Upload option, you can also keep it on Digi Locker.
  7.  The most important thing about Digi Locker is that you can easily view your document and download PDF from this website.

Steps to use DigiLocker through Mobile:-

  1. Download and Install DigiLocker app from Google Play Store on your Smartphone.
  2. Then click Signup on the DigiLocker App.
  3. After clicking on the signup, you will see a new list where you will have to enter your Mobile Number. By entering the mobile number and continuing, you will receive an OTP on your mobile number.
  4. After entering OTP a new slide will open, then you have to enter username and password.
  5. When your account is open, you have to Link your Aadhaar Card.
  6. Then you can issue your document, such as 10th 12th Marksheet, Passing Certificate, Digital Driving License, Pan Card etc.
  7. You can also Upload your documents to DigiLocker.
  8.  You can also easily view your document and download in PDF from this app.
